Information regarding using dialog in short stories:

Remember:
-Weave expository information (character name, age, location, etc.) into your story - SHOW, DON'T TELL
-We will talk about editing another time, but for now, please follow capitalization and punctuation rules:
  • capitalize "I" when using it as a pronoun to describe yourself
  • capitalize proper nouns (names of people, places, things)
  • capitalize the beginnings of sentences
  • Period at end of sentences
  • comma whenever you take a pause or write a list
You should be able to catch many of these errors on your own with a careful proofread.

-Indent the beginning of each new paragraph
-Point of view - 1st person, 3rd, person, 3rd person omniscient
