8 Maths

Welcome everyone to the new school year. We're off to a great start in 8th grade math! The first unit of study this year is titled "Filling and Wrapping." In this unit, students are expected to become masters of three-dimensional geometry: surface area and volume of boxes, cylinders, cones and spheres. We have already completed the first four Problems in Investigation 1.

Early in this coming week, students will take a quiz to see how well they are grasping the concepts so far.

Typically, students will have 20 to 30 minutes of math practice assigned to them each night. Sometimes students may have time to complete this practice in class or during Enrichment block, but please ask to see your child's planner and completed practice each night.
